September 2017 Favorites + Face

September Favorites & Face

It’s that time again, time for me to talk about some of my favorite products from the last month, this post is a little light though as I feel like I didn’t wear a whole lot of makeup during September, which I’m going to blame on getting sick. But, since I hadn’t been wearing a ton of makeup during the month that means I don’t have a whole lot of favorites. Let’s just get into it and talk about the products I have been loving.

PSX_20170930_132958

Gold Target Bracelet – I couldn’t find this bracelet on the Target website and it was on clearance when I got it, so I’m assuming they don’t sell it anymore but this bracelet is still a favorite of mine. I’m not much of a bracelet girl but this one is really nice and adds just the right amount of something to an outfit, which is why it is a favorite for the month of September.

Anastasia Beverley Hills Blush Trio in Pool Party – This was in my shop my stash post for last month, so I guess it makes sense that this one is here, it’s one of the products that I was really focusing on using and trying out during the month of September and it left a good impression. I feel like I hear no one talk about these but I actually really like this one and have been debating picking up another one, these come with three shades and I just like having a little bit of variety at my fingertips.

Smith’s Tropical Ambrosia – I feel like everyone loves the Smith’s Rosebud Salve, but I don’t like the rose scent at all, I was debating the strawberry one a little while back but then saw that this one existed and I’m glad I picked this up. This is really moisturizing and the smells amazing, it has a really tropical fruity scent to it that doesn’t smell like straight up coconut, which I personally love.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara – This might be my new holy grail mascara, I never bought high-end mascaras before really and this might be the reason why I’ve fallen hard for this. This doesn’t clump on me at all, this is really dark and this isn’t too wet, a recipe for a perfect mascara to me.

Skinfood Watermelon Mask – This mask is something that I love and am not surprised that I do, mostly because I pretty much love everything to do with watermelon. I have been using this mask a lot after I go for runs, it’s just really cooling and soothing, the smell is amazing too!

NYX Blotting Powder in Light – I always think powder is powder, but when I ran out of this for a short period of time I was reminded that’s not true, I’m super happy to have this back in my hands. This really sets my makeup fantastically and it really helps sheer out products if I get a little bit overly eager with the blush or the bronzer, another thing that I really appreciate.

Eyes: Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer, Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance: Tempera, Warm Taupe, Raw Sienna, Vermeer, Antique Bronze and Cyprus Umber. Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer In Noir, Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in In The Nude, Physicians Formula Eye Booster Eyeliner in Ultra Black, Benefit Roller Lash Mascara. Face: Milk Makeup Blur Stick, Dr. Jart BB Cream in Light Medium, Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in Fair, Anastasia Beverly Hills Foundation Stick in Dawn, NYX Blotting Powder in Light, NYX Ombre Blush in Mauve Me, Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Smokin’ Whistles, NYX Matte Setting Spray, Fiona Stiles Micro Precision Brow Sculpting Pencil in Neutral Brown. Lips: The Estee Edit The Barest Contour Lip Liner in In The Buff, Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss in Peach.

Those are all of my favorite products from September and the fact that I decided to share with you guys to represent the month, not that I think anyone look can represent last month since I really didn’t wear makeup nearly enough. It’s been a really slow month but I’m okay with that, these are still things that I have really been loving.

What have you been loving for the month of September?

August 2017 Favorites + Face

August 2017 Favorites+ Face

I know, it’s Friday! And you might be wondering what I’m doing here, Friday isn’t one of my usual days to blog on and this isn’t a post that I would forget about seeing as I do it every month. I have put myself on a new schedule, pretty much for the same reasons as last time, I have so many ideas and so much content that I can’t get it out fast enough. However, I can not daily blog because that is something that I just couldn’t keep up with, so because of that I have settled on five days a week. I’ve done this before but I’m hoping to stick to it, I guess we’ll see how it went in the month of October, but until then you will be seeing me on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

Anyway, enough of my rambling about schedules and all of those boring things, it’s the start of a new month which means that it is time for some monthly favorites and face, so let’s just jump right on into this one.

PSX_20170826_172653

Milk Makeup Blur Stick – This is just a little sample size but I love this one! I have another little sample of it and once I’m through them I’m probably really going to debate purchasing a full size. This does not work like a primer if you ask me, it doesn’t really prolong the wear of my makeup, but it does make my face look poreless and smooth, it blurs if you will. The only downfall is the smell, it smells chemical and I don’t like it, it’s not too bad though.

NYX Blotting Powder in Light  – I think you can see that this is well loved, this has been my go to powder as of recently. I don’t think this is anything outlandish or out there, but it’s a nice powder and I’m happy with it.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara – This has been my new favorite mascara, especially combined with the product below, it just makes my lashes super wow and great. This is very black, it doesn’t really clump up that much and it makes my lashes super long.

L’oreal Voluminous Primer Mascara  – I have weird feelings about this, sometimes I wonder if this is really doing things for me but other times I know that it for sure is doing something, especially when paired with the mascara above. I have tried this with one other mascara and it just clumped up my lashes majorly, so I guess this one is something that you have to play around with in terms of which products you can use it with.

psx_20170826_171941.jpg

Pixi Glow Tonic Toner  – I love this stuff way more than I ever thought I would, this is my second bottle and I’m glad I kept using it. This makes my skin feel so soft and smooth, it also gives me a little bit of a glow I think, and I love that! This combined with the two cleansers I use is just a perfect combination, so I think I’m getting closer to my perfect skincare routine.

J.Cat Beauty Dry Makeup Brush Cleaner – This is something I didn’t think I would really need, I was using a hair doughnut and I think it was working just fine, however, I ordered this because I was curious and had my eye on it for quite some time and I’m glad that I did. I think this works better than my little hair doughnut and it catches all of the shadows fall out in the container, this is a fantastic purchase and a great bargain.

Mac Trip The Light Fantastic Powder in Strange New Worlds – This is the only product I couldn’t link because it is limited edition, some people don’t like to share limited edition product on their blogs due to lack of being able to get your hands on them, but sometimes I just really like a product and need to share it. This is a really light blush on me or a really great cheek topper, but I’m very favorable of it.

Tonymoly Peach Punch Sweet Foam Cleanser – This is something that I just started using this month even though I bought it months ago, but I guess it’s better late than never. I love this stuff! It has a really faint peachy scent, I personally find it gentle enough to use around my eyes and it leaves my skin feeling so clean, plus this is really affordable so really it’s win-win.

Eyes: Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer, Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition Palette, Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner in Noir, Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-In-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Black, L’oreal Voluminous Base Mascara and Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara. Face: Milk Makeup Blur Stick, Mac Strobe Cream, Dr. Jar+ Beauty Balm in Light/Medium, Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer in Light Neutral, NYX Blotting Powder in Light, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, Mac Trip The Light Fantastic Powder in Strange New Worlds and treStique Highlight Stick. Lips: Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Audition.

And that is the face that I chose for this month, this time around I kind of did a hybrid of creating a looking and picking a look out the represented the month. I think this month had a pretty good mix of products in it, both new and older and all things that I’m really loving.

July 2017 Favorites + Face

July 2017 MonthlyFavorites & Face

The start of a new month means tons of posts about the last month are coming your way, and by tons, I mean four total, this being the second of the four. And today I am talking about my favorites from July, of course, so let’s not waste any time and just get into it.

20170729_160600

I know, this mix does look a little bit like last months, however, I did mix in some other things. I just had a few things that I have really been loving and just needed to be shoved in this month’s favorites too.

Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ – Yes, this is back once more, I am obsessed and I really don’t know what more to say about that. This is just something that I really love, find myself reaching for a ton and just keep shoving in all the blog posts. It’s going to be a sad day when this runs out, although I do have this product in another scent so I guess it won’t be so bad.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe – I’ve never really been super into brow products, mostly because I have pretty nice brows naturally and I’m not really a big fan of the ‘Instagram’ brow. When I am feeling in the mood for just a little bit more that’s when I whip this guy out, it’s really quite natural and easy to use, I think it adds a little something to my eyebrows without making them overwhelmingly obnoxious. Because of that, this has been something I’ve been reaching for a lot this month.

Physicians Formula 2 in 1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Black – This is a huge favorite of mine because this is the type of eyeliner that changed my eyeliner game and really made it super easy for me to do, the one that did it for me was the Kat Von D one but this one is almost the exact thing I feel like. The tip is like a really pointed, exact brush and that’s what I love about it, it’s really precise and this is really black.

City Color Contour On The Go Palette – This is one of the most surprising products that I’ve ever tried, meaning I picked this up at a five below and expected nothing out of it, but it’s turned into something that I frequently find myself using and at this point almost exclusively used for contour. I mix the bottom two right shades and it’s just a perfect mix for me, so I’m a huge fan of this, especially seeing as it was five dollars.

Deva Curl Wave Maker Touchable Texture Whip – Something that may seem a little bit strange if you’ve been here a while, I rarely talk about hair products, mostly because I don’t really fuss with my hair ever but I did get this in a travel set that I got for when I went to Florida and I love it! In fact I’, e already been through another travel size of this product and am really considering purchasing the full size. I like this because I think it makes my hair a little bit more manageable and I also like it because I feel like it makes my hair look a lot wavier than it would on its own, which is a huge plus for me.

Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in Noir – This is here because this is the black eyeliner I use to tight line, and sometimes in the waterline but that’s far less often. I use this because I find that it doesn’t really budge in the eye area like some eyeliners do, if my eyes get a little water I don’t really notice any transfer and that’s a fantastic thing if you ask me.

Derma Blend Loose Powder – This is really surprising to me, loose powder seems to be a thing that everyone is using and that everyone loves, but I never expected to even like one let alone love one like I do this one. I enjoy this one so much that I am actually debating picking up the full size once I run out of this little sample, which will be very soon, but I’m not one hundred percent sure yet. Until then I plan on enjoying this powder while I have it.

I feel like this is a pretty standard thing that keeps happening, I have a really consistent base for the month to share but the eye looks are never consistent enough for me to be like, yup, that’s the eye look the represents the month of ___. So, because of that, I’m thinking I might start just doing a feature look of the month, I’m not sure though but I guess I have a month to decide. This month I chose to do this look because I’ve been testing out some new palettes and have been using a lot of colors this month.

Lorac Behind The Scenes Eyeshadow Primer

NYX Eyeshadow Base in White

BH Cosmetics Take Me Back To Brazil Palette: Row 2 Shade 4, Row 1 Shade 2, Row 3 Shade 2, Row 4 Shade 2 & Black

Rimmel Exaggerate Water Proof Eye Definer in Noir

Phyisicians Formula 2 in 1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Black

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in Porcelain

Maybelline Brightening Creamy Concealer in Fair

Dermablend Loose Powder

City Colors contour On The Go Palette

Mac Pearl Matte Face Powder in Oh my, Passion

Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Diamond Dust

Mac Prep + Prime Fix +

Buxom Full On Lip Cream in White Russian

And those are my favorites for the month of July, I think I had a really great base down and a lot of fun with the eyes. I feel like my makeup is always way too much considering where I work, but that’s alright, I enjoy it and I think that’s really what matters.

June 2017 Favorites + Face

June 2017 Monthly Favoritesand Face

This is my last monthly post, my monthly favorites, and face for the month of June. I kept it a little simple this month and kept it to the simple things that I loved this month, which means that I mostly focused on face products this month because I was really about a good base this month. Now, let’s jump into talking about my favorites for June.

20170624_141850

Mac Fix + Coconut. I am obsessed with this stuff and I think that’s probably clear by now because I talk about this way too much, but I just really love this stuff! The light smell of coconut is so refreshing combined with the fact that it really tones down the look of powder on the face, I just really enjoy this stuff.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation in Porcelain. I posted a review of this a couple of weeks ago and by that review, you can probably tell that I love this foundation! This is a really amazing summer foundation I think, it’s light weight, looks fantastic on the skin and is just overall a great foundation.

City Color Contour Palette On The Go. This is something that I recently spoke about in my Five Below Finds posts, it was probably the star of that post and something that has made it’s way into my favorites post, which says something I think. This is completely affordable, has a little range of shades and the powder just feels really nice. I find this easy to work with and that it looks great on the skin, so I’m a big fan of this and it was really surprising.

Tarte Shape Tape in Fair is something that is well loved pretty much everywhere on social media and I can completely understand why this is a really thick and has high coverage, which is something that I actually find myself enjoying a lot. There is completely a reason why this is hyped up.

Buxom Full On Lip Cream in White Russian. I have a mini of this and this is something that I am for sure going to get a full size of once I run out of this. This is another product that I think has a cult following on the social media and I can understand why these are fantastic lip glosses and this color is just so neutral and flattering.

Lipstick Queen Hello Sailor. This is a blue lipstick and it changes to the perfect mauvey kind of shade on the lips, it’s really sheer, glossy and super comfortable to wear. It doesn’t have a lot of lasting power on the lips but it’s really pretty and I just love putting on blue lipstick and it not actually being blue.

Dermablend Loose Setting Powder. This is something that is on my project pan list and as I’m using it I’m falling for it more, it’s a really finely milled powder, it sets my makeup amazingly and lasts all day long.

Now, on to the look I created using my monthly favorites and some other things. I went for an eye look that I’ve worn a couple times this month just because it seemed to work. To the list of products I used for this look.

Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation in Porcelain

Tarte Shape Tape in Fair

Dermablend Loose Setting Powder

City Color Contour Palette On The Go

Laura Geller Baked Blush-N-Brighten Blush in Pink Grapefruit

Sephora Radiant Luminizing Drops in Morning Light

Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer

Colourpop Pressed Eyeshadow in On The Fence & Come and Get It

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow in Tuscan Sun & Cherry Cola

Mac Rose Pigment

Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner in Noir

Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner in In The Nude

Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Perversion

Pur Volume Vixen Mascara

Essence Make Me Brow in Soft Brown Brows

Mac Fix + Coconut

Lipstick Queen in Hello Sailor

And those are all of the products that I used for this look, a good mix of high end and low end and pretty much all of the products that were on my favorites list this month, so it’s a good look that represented the month of June I think.

April 2017 Favorites

April 2017 Favorites

It’s that time of the month again, the time where everyone’s dashboard is full of favorites posts, which I quite enjoy seeing as I like to see what other people are enjoying. If you’ve seen my last couple of posts then you have already heard the whole thing about April going by rather slowly, so I am not surprised that it is already May, but I am excited about it being May! I’m ready for the summer! Anyway, let’s get into talking about some products and things I loved this month.

20170429_154933.jpg

This month is a little bit smaller of a selection than usual, but this month is also almost all brand new products to me, and if they aren’t brand new from this past month they are all things that I have for sure picked up this year, so everything is newer to me.

Laura Geller Baked-N-Brighten in Pink Buttercream. I have a mini in pink grapefruit, so during the Ulta sale I decided to pick another one up in a full size and I’m really glad that I did. This one is a really a pretty pink shade with a little bit of shimmer to it, it’s very nice flush but can be built up some if that’s the look you’re going for.

NYX Total Control Drops in Porcelain. I love these! These are really light coverage foundation, it can be built up to medium coverage and this also does amazingly with other foundations. I use this most often to lighten up other foundations, which it does so well and that’s why I put it on this list.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Fair. This is the newest concealer I’ve purchased, this concealer is majorly hyped up all over the internet and I wasn’t sure why then I tried it. This is completely worth all of the hype, this is a really full coverage concealer and it’s easy to blend out but still covers so well.

Buxom Full On Lip Cream in White Russian. This is something I had no idea that I would like, I’m not usually one to like lip glosses, but this one is amazing. This is minty, a lovely color and really glossy.

Lipstick Queen in Hello Sailor. This is a really weird concept that I am obsessed with, even though it seems kind of gimmicky but I like it. This is a blue lipstick that adjusts to your perfect berry kind of color, it’s so pretty, moisturizing and kind of cool.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Bronze. This is another thing that has been talked about all over the internet, it’s super hyped up and I had to try it, that almost always happens because I have no willpower. This bronzer is actually really enjoyable, I don’t often find myself using bronzer but when I do I really like this one, it’s easily one of the best that I’ve tried, if not this best.

Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ in Coconut. I have gotten really into sprays and I this is yet another product that has been hyped up, I never thought I would try this but I heard they came out with a coconut scent and I really felt like it was time to try it. I love this, this makes my makeup look amazing and last a bit longer than it regularly would.

And those are all of my favorite products from the past month, pretty much all of them are new to me and I’m really enjoying them, maybe a couple of them will pop back up in next months favorites. Also, if your interested in last months favorites feel free to check it out because who doesn’t love favorite posts?

March 2017 Favorites & Face

April 2017

As you guys are probably fully aware by now it is April, another month has gone by, and I’ve already been through the whole spiel about how time goes by way too fast now in my monthly wrap up post, so I’ll spare you guys that. Instead, I’m just going to jump into my favorites! So, let’s look at all of the things that I’ve been loving over the past month.

20170325_181312.jpg

My face stuff has been really bland, but a nice mix of products as you can probably tell, the exciting and fun part this month has been the eyes but I will share those favorites with you below in just a little bit. Instead, let’s chat about these first.

Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin has made its way back into the favorites. I just love everything sin related, it’s always just so pretty and the highlighter is no exception, it is so very pretty and I love it. It can be a little bit subtle or you can really build this up for some great, and blinding, highlight.

Wet ‘N Wild Contour Palette in Dulce De Leche is something that I have been trying to use up, so of course, I have been using this like crazy. I really like this powder, I think it’s soft but not too powdery, I just wish I could use the dark contour side more.

NYX Ombre Blush in Mauve It is a blush that I am in love with, I brought it back out after seeing an article about how this is the best blush on the market right now or something like that. This is a really flattering color that looks great on the skin and looks really good with a lot of different looks.

Buxom Full On Lip Cream in White Russian is something I wasn’t expecting to like. I was probably least excited about this product in the set that I got it in, but it turns out I actually really like this and has been using it a lot. I like the tingle I get from using it and I really like the light color of this, overall I just think it’s flattering.

Real Techniques Setting Brush is the first brush I’ve included in a favorites, I think. I really like this brush and have been using it for highlighting, it’s a little more heavy handed then a fan brush but that’s something that I like sometimes and this is so soft.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara is something that I hated at first, but after using it and having it for a couple of weeks I really love now. I think this needed to dry out a tiny bit before I really liked it and now I’m going to be really sad to see it go.

NYX Eyeshadow Base in White is a key part of my next two favorites, I’ve really been enjoying playing with colorful eyeshadow and this has really been making that shadow last and pop, so it’s killing two birds with one stone.

20170325_181933.jpg

Urban Decay Electric Palette is something that is really gorgeous and I’ve been loving, it has both mattes and shimmers in it which I really like having. This palette is also insanely pigmented, much more than the other favorite in this picture. This is just a really fun and color palette.

NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in Brights is something else that is really fun and colorful, this one doesn’t really have a mix of finishes as I find it to be mostly matte, which is nice but it is sometimes nice to have a little bit of shimmer. I’ve played with this so much and it’s really great, especially at the price point it is.

 wp-1491269698007.jpg

Let me start out by saying that this isn’t quite my monthly look for this month, it is a little bit more over the top than what I would usually do but I’ve decided to still use this one because I haven’t had a set look this month really, instead I’ve been a bit all over the place. Plus, I really liked this look and was really happy with it so I wanted to share.

  • Ulta Eyeshadow Primer in Champagne
  • Wet ‘N Wild Contouring Palette in Dulce De Leche
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in White
  • Urban Decay Electric Palette in the shades Free Love, Savage and Slowburn
  • NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette Brights in the Shade Row 1 shade 1, Row 2 Shade 1 and Row 2 Shade 4
  • Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper
  • Urban Decay Metal Line in Midnight Cowboy
  • Stila Smudge Stick in Cobalt
  • Bobbi Brown Smoky Eye Mascara
  • NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe
  • Essence Make Me Brow in Soft Browny Brows
  • Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
  • L.A. Girl Pro Conceal in Porcelain
  • Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in Porcelain
  • Mac Strobe Cream
  • Maybelline Fit Me Powder in Porcelain
  • NYX Wonder Stick in Light/Medium
  • ELF Illuminating Palette: Top Right Shade
  • Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Blush in Cantaloupe
  • Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey
  • Lime Crime Unicorn Lipstick in Choker
  • Wet ‘N Wild Color Icon Lip Gloss in Jackie A La Mode

And that has been my monthly favorites and face, this month has been very colorful, as you may be able to tell. I really loved all of these products and would recommend any of them. I also would suggest playing with color if you’re every in the mood to, I think it’s really fun and it is a little bit of a challenge to figure out what colors go together. Or maybe that’s just a me thing, who really knows. Anyway, that’s it for this month and I will be back next month with another favorites and face.

What products have you guys been loving a lot in March?

Monthly Favorites & Face: January 2017

Now it is time for another monthly post and this month I’ve decided to combine two, just because I feel like these two things make sense together especially since I use a ton of my favorites in my monthly faces usually. I’m going to try this out and if I like doing it this way, and you guys like it too, I’ll probably continue to do it like this because I feel a little bit like my monthly face is just a post that I throw up and go with. Enough of that, let’s talk about what I’ve been loving in this new year so far.

2016 Favorites: Makeup

I guess blogmas is technically over but not for me, I have posts planned out until January first, after that we’ll go back to the regular schedule of posting on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.  I’m still going to call this blogmas because I am not ready for Christmas to be over, so get ready for another weeks worth of posts. For the next few days I will be talking about my end of year favorites, just like I did last year, and this one is huge and I cannot believe that 2016 is over. I won’t go into talking about 2016 as I’m going to have an end of year wrap up on the blog in a few days, but I still cannot believe that this year is already over. Now, let’s get into talking about all of my favorite makeup from this past year.
